Happy Easter to Everyone!!!
Easter is just a little early this year. April 4 th
is the day. Other days to celebrate this month are: Administrative
Professionals Day (secretary’s day) on April 21,
Earth Day on April 22 and Arbor Day, April 30. Here in the southwest
district the one big date to remember this month is the fourth Saturday,
April 24th. Not for the
Altus Twirlers dance, but for the Southwest District Spring Festival to be
held in Hydro. The Twirlers will be going dark to support our district and
hope to see everyone there.
The Twirlers had another great evening in February. Don and Bonnie
Main called a super dance. We always have so much fun dancing to Don’s
calling. Two plus squares danced the night away with
Vernon Travelers, Western Swing, Hydro Hi Steppers, and of course the
Twirlers in attendance. Gene
Morton won the ―split the pot‖ and Gerald
Sherrill won the door prize. A fun time was had by all.
Speaking of Gerald… we hear by way of the grapevine
that there is a wedding planned for April. Congratulations to Gerald and
Ann Passmore who will be tying the knot on April 10th.
We wish them both much happiness.
Our next dance will be on May 22 nd at
the Altus Community Center, East side, with Skip Gates scheduled to do the
calling for the evening. Plan on coming on down and joining us as we are
planning on graduating our new dancers that evening.
Once again, we send our prayers along to all who are under the
weather or have had recent surgeries, chemo treatments or are just not up
to snuff. We miss each and every one of you. Those that I can think of at
the top of my head are: Debbie Wilson, Beverly Petross, Kelvin Casebeer,
Pat Meason, Jill Stewart, and any others who I am not aware
of or just can’t remember. Hurry up, get well,
and come back to dancing.
Once again, I have run out of things to say….so….I
will close for now. See you all in a square
real, real soon.
