Friday, July 31st – “Red, White & Blue” Fifth Friday Summer Dance – Old Santa Fe Depot 8:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Callers: Rod & Lois. Casual Dress; its summertime! I will need help in the kitchen and setting up. If you can help please let me know.

Monday, August 10th – “PICNIC” at the Depot! 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (Note time change)
Question? Instead of having Milburn bring his “cooker” would everyone agree to have the Club furnish the meat? If so – suggestions of what kind! Everyone will bring a side dish of their choosing! Afterwards we will have a brief meeting and then play games! We need a theme for the Fall Festival; everyone be thinking; something with a western title.

TICKET SALES! We will have the “1966 Ford Mustang” here for four (4) days, September 24, 25, 26 & 27th. We want to try to set up at Sunset Plaza, Atwood’s, Street Stock Nationals, etc. If you have any suggestions please let me know. We hope that everyone is out selling tickets. Our Club operates off of the funds we receive from the sales. It takes us about $1,700 a year to run our Club so everyone needs to pitch in and do their part during our fund raiser.

SQUARE DANCE LESSONS! We want to try to start square dance lessons in September. We are currently working on trying to get something set up for about the middle of the month. Something to think about and Dale and I are excited about the possibilities! We just received a call from the Enid Chamber of Commerce asking us to have a float in the Parade on September 12th. This would be a good way to advertise our lessons and showcase our hobby of square dancing; also Pegasys will be filming the parade and if we write up an ad they will advertise our lessons! Wow! This may be our best opportunity, and hopefully not our last, that we have had in a long time to get new square dancers. We will need a driver; a trailer; hay bales; decorations; signs to advertise lessons and ticket sales and especially square dancers! We will need four couples to dance; a caller and other dancers dressed in square dance outfits to set on the float! We need EVERYONE’S HELP! Even if you are not a member of our Club we need your help!

HEALTH ISSUES in our Club and NW District! Joan Bliss, back surgery; Marvin Goll was injured in an automobile accident and is recovering slowly; Sue McBride, had foot surgery and is on the road to recovery; Allan McBride has a blockage in a minor artery but no surgery is required at this time; Woodward Wranglers; Nancy Blankinship, will have a total hip replacement August 3rd at McBride Orthopedic Hospital in Oklahoma City; Luke Riddle had surgery Monday morning on a nerve in his brain. He came through the surgery in great shape but will have a slow recovery; Red Carpet Squares; Carmen Veal’s M.S. has flared up, so her legs are rather wobbly and she doesn’t know when she will have solid legs under her again! Please keep all of these members and any others that you know of who have had health issues in your thoughts and prayers.

Hope to see all of you very soon! Dale & Jackie
