Woodward Wranglers were host for the NW District Spring Festival
March 8th. “ALOHA” was the theme and a great time was had by all. The
OSDF Officers were in attendance and Jimmy Gouge did a great job of
calling.
We would like to thank the District Officers who attended the OSDF
Spring Festival Round-up at Western Hills Guest Ranch in Sequoyah State
Park. We received a nice “thank you note” from the Festival chairman
to our District. It said, “How we appreciate you and the fine job you do
to whatever assignment you have. Thanks to all of you for doing a ‘bang
up’ registration and banquet tickets hand out. Your area beautifully
enhanced the overall mood of ‘Lost in the Fifties.’ Thanks for all you
do in the name of square dancing!”
We had a great turnout for the Benefit Dance for Rod Ford. $6,295.00
was raised and we understand more money came in later. Rod and Lois are
most appreciative for your generosity and your friendship.
T.J. & Nancy went to Tulsa and picked up our tickets for the State
Festival Grand Prize. It is a 1980 bright red, T-top Corvette with black
interior. WOW!! Woodward will have the car the last of May for several
days and Enid will have the car the end of September during Street Stock
Nationals! The “Victory Dance” winner this year will be the district
that sell the most tickets. Our challenge to you this year is to sell more
tickets and ads than we did last year. The more we sell the more money our
clubs will make! We have the ad information.
The special events in May are the “Boggy Creek Barn Dance” in
Fargo, May 17th and the “Fifth Friday” dance in Enid, May 30th with
Cecil Burton calling.
Until next time we leave you with this thought: Remember . . .
Everyday that you can wake up free, it’s going to be a great day!
