Northwest Singles & Doubles Squares
Northwest Singles & Doubles will be going to one dance per month
through July. We’ll be dancing on May 16th to Rod & Lois and/or
Larry. Our dance in June will be on June 6th with Larry and/or Rod &
Lois doing the calling. As always, our dances will be at the old Santa Fe
depot in Enid, starting at 8 pm. Come on out and dance with us.
The NOC square dance classes are drawing to an end. We’ll have our
final dances the last week of April, starting with Stillwater on Monday,
April 28th, Enid on Tuesday, April 29th and ending with Tonkawa on
Thursday, May 1st. The students are doing a good job of dancing but more
importantly, they’re having fun square dancing! You are welcome to come
out and join them at any of their final dances. The Enid & Tonkawa
classes dance in the Student Unions at their campus and the Stillwater
class dances in room 177 of the NOC complex. The dances will run from 7-9
pm.
Perry Promenaders has an extra special dance scheduled for Saturday,
April 26th with international caller, Nasser Shukayr calling the dance.
His dances are always a lot of fun even if you don’t dance. We’ll be
dancing at the Noble County Fairgrounds (1st & Ivanhoe) in Perry. The
fun starts at 8 pm.
On May 31st, one of the Larry’s (McClain or Reames) will be calling
for the Perry Promenaders at the fairgrounds in Perry. Then, we’re
hosting another special dance on Tuesday, June 24th at the fairgrounds in
Perry as a trail-thru dance to Nationals in Wichita. It’s billed as a
caller’s showcase headlined by Nasser Shukayr, Texas and Doug Davis,
Washington with a supporting cast of alumni from Nasser & Doug’s
calling school. We hope to have lots of callers from around the region and
nation. You might get to see one of the rising stars of the square dance
world. Dances will start at 8.
Keep on dancing!
